How to Reset Samsung Galaxy S to Factory Settings

1. BACKUP YOUR MEDIA

When you reset to factory settings, all data and media saved on internal storage will be erased. Ensure to backup all your Email, Contact, SMS, Third-party App on your external memory as MicroSD card is safe and
NOT be erased.

2. RESET SAMSUNG GALAXY S FROM ANDROID MENU - SOFT RESET

1. Tap Menu on Home screen of Samsung Galaxy S.
2. Tap Settings > select Privacy.
3. Tap “Factory Data reset” option.
4. Tap “Reset Phone” > “Erase Everything” buttons.
5.  Type password if required.
6. Your mobile will reboot and it takes time to reset phone to factory settings, please wait.

3. RESET SAMSUNG GALAXY S FROM BUTTONS - HARD RESET

1. Charge your battery fully before reset.
2. Turn off your Galaxy S and remove the battery then reinsert it again.

1. Hold the “Volume down” button, press and release only the “Power” button. Note: keep hold the "Volume down" button.
2. A menu will appear : Facebook, Recovery, Clear Storage, Simlock.
3. To navigate use “Volume Down” button and select “Clear Storage” option by press and release “Power” button.
4. Select Volume Up button for YES or Volume Down for NO

4. IF SAMSUNG GALAXY S FREEZE or ERROR. TRY THIS ANOTHER METHOD

1. Turn off your Galaxy S and remove the battery then reinsert it again. If your device freezes or hangs, reboot by pressing the "Power" button for 5-8 s.
2. Simultaneously press the "Volume Up", "Home" and "Power" button
3. Once the Samsung symbol appears, release the "Power" button
4. A Boot Menu will display, use the "Volume up/down" to choose and tap "Home" button to select.
5. Reset process will take a moment, please wait.
